Where The Hell is Matt's Girlfriend?

rickyv:

You’ve seen where Matt was, now see what his girlfriend was up to.

Made by our talented production team in a single afternoon last Friday.

Digg if you dig, of course.

William Shatner f/ Joe Jackson - Common People

So this is a weird one. If you didn’t know, Shatner does only spoken word songs. This is a cover of Pulp’s 1995 song and is from his 5th album, which was also produced by Ben Folds.

This is a new one for me: Google now inserts Google Code search results for function names. Wouldn’t it be easier to index the documentation? This result is totally meaningless.

Also, strtotime.net is hilarious.

Here’s a Lego Wall•E built by a Pixar animator and a second build by a fan. I wish someone would release some schematics so I could build it myself!

This is what your networking closet will look like if the following things happen in order:

The AC unit breaks and the room heats up to 110°
The repaired AC unit condensation on your networking equipment
You burn out 3 different switches in 2 days
Your emergency replacement switches have no mounting brackets and you’re forced to buy out B&H’s entire supply of 7’ Cat5 to connect ~70 ports

Chris Schneider has been a real networking hero this week. Note: this is just our office network, no real websites run over these cables (thank god).

I passed my bartending exam. It consisted of an hour long written test and making a random drink (in my case German Chocolate Cake shots) in front of 30 people while telling a joke.

It sounds silly, but I was as nervous for this test as any I’ve ever taken. I studied for several hours. Even more disturbing, I think it’ll serve me better than Discrete Math, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra combined. I have never had to use even the most basic of Calculus in my professional career but I have often wondered what’s in a Mai Tai. Now I know, and can make tips off it.

I’m bummed Jacob is closing down his blog. I worked within 20 feet of him for over two years and haven’t done a good job of keeping in contact with him lately, so reading what he was thinking every day was nice. I don’t really follow Jake’s life outside our own relationship, so I was pretty surprised and depressed to see so much hate in my Tumblr dashboard today. As far as I can tell he’s guilty of not taking himself seriously enough by people who take themselves too seriously? Or is it the other way around? Is it cool to be a pessimistic shill?

“Olafur Eliasson—the guy who installed a giant artificial sun in London’s Tate Modern and dyed rivers in Germany, L.A., and Tokyo bright green—to create one of the biggest, most brilliant public art projects in city history. His 90- to 120-foot-tall man-made waterfalls, stationed at four sites along New York’s shores and lit up past sunset, make for the largest installation of the Danish-Icelandic artist’s career.”
